After only a single day delay, Epic Games have released the newest update for Fortnite. The brand new 3.3 patch adds new features and weapons to both Battle Royale and Save the World modes.
One of the most exciting additions to Battle Royale is the all-new remote explosive, available from treasure chests or supply drops, as floor loot, or through Supply Llamas, another of this patch’s new features.
The remote explosives are pretty self-explanatory, you place it down where you want to and detonate it from a remote location. These new explosives will be your new best friend when dealing with player built fortresses and bases or for a siege style attack for that awesome explosive entrance. The remote explosives are a Rare-level rarity item and come in stacks of four, with a maximum of 10. However with the addition of this smoke grenades have currently been “vaulted” for the time being and are currently no longer available in the game.
The Supply Llamas are a type of treasure chest but can be found in more unusual locations, so if you decide to abort on Titled Towers and land in the middle of nowhere, you still have a chance to find some awesome loot but don’t count on it. Only 3 Supply Llamas spawn per game in a completely random location. Opened like a chest they can contain any of the following: 500 Wood, Stone, Metal, 10 stacks of each ammo type or 3 Traps and consumables.
Finally, Blitz has been announced. The new limited-time mode launches on March 19th; it consists of more fast-paced matches that feature a 15-minute time limit. Blitz has much shorter storm times resulting in faster & more intense matches and the match will start with the storm circle already closing in over the island. If you do manage to survive you will get a shot at getting some of the increased loot availability. Treasure chest health has also been increased from 200 to 500 along with ammo box health which has been increased from 120 to 250 in only the Blitz mode.
Adjustments to loot availability:
- Increased chances of treasure chests spawning from 50-70% to 80-90%.
- Increased chances of ammo boxes spawning from 65-80% to 85-95%.
- Floor Loot spawns nearly 100% of the time.
- Supply Drop spawn interval lessened from 180s (+/- 30s) to 80s (+/- 20s).
- Supply Drop descent time shortened from 60s to 30s.
- Launchpad spawn likelihood greatly increased.
